Description |
Henry L. Smith and Katie Burkholder Smith with Leoda and Joseph. The Smiths were sent to India in 1913, along with M. Effie Rohrer, as the first missionaries under the Brethren in Christ Church. This photograph taken around 1922 shows them in Indian national dress. Henry Smith died in 1924, but Katie Smith with her children continued in the work until 1928. Both children became missionaries to India. |
