"L" text (L for Landes) found in his book "Das Guldene A B C" printed in 1829. It is presented as a portion of writing of Johannes Engle. Translated by William D. Meikle.

"C" text (C for Climenhaga) printed in "History of the Brethren in Christ Church" (1942) by Asa W. Climenhaga. Translation from German done by Bishop Charles Baker and a Chambersburg, Pa. German teacher.

"E" text (E for Engle) English text in "History of the Engle Family in America, 1754-1927" by Morris M. Engle. Hans Moyer, son-in-law of Jacob Engle, first River Brethren leader, is thought to be the author. Written about 1770.

"O" text (O for Old Order) found among Old Order River Brethren. English translation by Jacob W. Brechbill in 1902. Confession probably written by Johannes Engel, brother of Jacob Engle, first River Brethren leader.
